Privacy Policy
1. Introduction and effective date
This Privacy Policy explains how DevOps Crowd Inc. collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our website, submit our contact form, or book a call with us. This website is an informational marketing site. It has no user accounts and no product login. The actual services we provide to clients are governed by a separate signed agreement, and this policy does not apply to personal information our clients ask us to process for them under those agreements. Effective date: 16 June 2026. (Placeholder. The founder should confirm this date before publication.) We may update this policy from time to time, as described in the section on changes below.
2. Who we are and the person in charge of the protection of personal information
DevOps Crowd Inc. is a software engineering studio based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, serving clients across North America and Europe. For the purposes of applicable privacy law, including Quebec law, the federal private sector privacy law of Canada, and, where it applies, the data protection law of the European Union, DevOps Crowd Inc. is the organization responsible for the personal information described in this policy. As required by Quebec law, we have designated a person in charge of the protection of personal information who oversees our compliance. You may reach the person in charge of the protection of personal information at privacy@devopscrowd.com, or by mail at DevOps Crowd Inc., 1275 Av. des Canadiens-de-Montreal, Suite 5-129, Montreal, H3B 0G4, QC, Canada. (Placeholder. The founder must formally name this person and may publish that name and title here.)
3. What personal information we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to you and operate the website. Contact and booking submissions: when you complete our contact form or book a call, we collect the information you choose to provide, which typically includes your name, your email address, your company, and the content of your message or the details of your request. Technical and log data: when you visit the website, our systems and our hosting provider automatically record basic technical information such as your internet protocol address, your browser type and language, your device and operating system, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and the website you came from. Cookies and similar technologies: we and our analytics provider use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and to understand, in aggregate, how it is used, as described in the section on cookies below. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through this website, and we ask that you not send it to us through the contact form.
4. How and why we use personal information, and our legal bases
We use the personal information described above to respond to your enquiry and follow up with you, to arrange and hold a call, to prepare and send a proposal or a statement of work, to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the website, to keep records, and to comply with our legal obligations. Where the data protection law of the European Union applies to you, our legal bases are the following. We rely on your consent for non essential cookies and analytics and for any optional communications, and you may withdraw that consent at any time. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, presenting and improving our services, and keeping the website secure, where those interests are not overridden by your rights. Where you ask us to take steps before entering into an agreement, such as scoping an engagement, we rely on the need to take steps at your request prior to a contract. We rely on legal obligation where the law requires us to retain or disclose information. We do not use your personal information to make decisions about you by automated means that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies allow the website to function, to load pages, and to keep the site secure. Analytics cookies, provided by our privacy respecting analytics provider, help us understand in aggregate how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Where required, we ask for your consent before placing non essential cookies, and you can refuse or withdraw that consent. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling some cookies may affect how the website works. (Placeholder. The founder should confirm whether cookies and analytics are in fact used on the live site, and which categories, so this section matches reality.)
6. Who we share personal information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it. We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf and under our instructions, described here by category rather than by name: our website hosting and infrastructure provider, our scheduling and booking provider, our analytics provider, and our email and communication providers. We are based in Canada, and your personal information may be stored and processed in Canada and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. This means your information may be transferred to, and processed in, a jurisdiction with privacy laws that differ from those of your own country. Where we transfer personal information outside its country of origin, including for visitors located in Europe whose information leaves the European Economic Area, we take appropriate measures to ensure it remains protected to a comparable standard, such as relying on recognized adequacy decisions or on contractual safeguards with our service providers. You may contact us at privacy@devopscrowd.com for more information about these safeguards.
8. How long we keep personal information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, and then we delete it or anonymize it. Contact and booking submissions are kept while we correspond with you and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can follow up, and longer where we enter into a business relationship or where the law requires us to retain records. Technical, log, and analytics data are kept for a limited period for security and to understand site usage, and analytics data are generally held in aggregated or de identified form. When personal information is no longer required, we destroy, erase, or anonymize it in a secure manner, in accordance with our retention practices.
9. How we protect personal information
We take reasonable technical, physical, and organizational measures to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification, taking into account the sensitivity of the information. These measures include access controls, encryption in transit, restricting access to those who need it, and using reputable service providers. No method of transmission over the internet or method of storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a confidentiality incident occurs that presents a risk of serious injury, we will take the steps required by applicable law, including notifying the affected individuals and the competent authority where required.
10. Your rights and how to exercise them
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it where it is inaccurate or incomplete, and to ask us to delete it.
